GCMS shows 'Security Screening' and waiting... - let's gather here!

Hello All,

This thread interests me since I am completing 5 months since AOR and still BGIP from the 19th May 2017. I have ordered GCMS and should receive them in 1st week of July. I live in Dubai and have traveled to Saudi, Oman, Turkey, Greece. Nationality is Indian. My timeline is in the signature.

Kindly advise what should i expect from hereon as the wait is frustrating. Appreciate some expert comments.

You might be stuck in "Security screening" like the rest of us. But the picture would be clear once you receive your GCMS notes and share the same with us

My BGC has been going since November 23rd 2011, plus two documents requested in January. The date when security screening has begun was redacted from the GCMS notes, but I'll update you if I get any news.

Could you share a more detailed timeline of that girl with security screening who got ppr please?

Why doyou reckon you've been selected for SS? and its been around 7 months your security hasn't been completed?

I found it in my GCMS notes last April/May.. Well it's pretty obvious why, cause I'm Middle Eastern and with a past military service

And yes, AOR Nov 11th, BGC IP Nov 23rd

I believe the timeline depends on country of origin and how complex your case is.

I have also been stuck on SS since late March.Would also be interested in any cases from Jan/Feb, but haven't come across any on this forum.

You're sailing the same boat. I am Dec 30 AoR. SS since eligibility passed end of March..

No travel history, no military background, no government positions

Got GCMS notes, same as yours - everything is passed, last 3 activities are security screening started April 28th.
My 6 months deadline is in two weeks.

I have no idea what could trigger their choice, I'm only 25 y.o. so I couldn't do much sh** in my life.
Seems like it is random choice of loosers who are going to wait a lot. So unfair.

So for some it's 9 months for others 18 months.

Thanks. Yes I'm following that thread as well and frankly it makes me hopeless as a few cases went beyond a year or two and I have no idea whether I should wait a few days or months or over a year, and in GCMS all dates of security are redacted which makes it all very unknown.

My a or is Jan 11. And I have my notes every month Up till last month. Now I have decided that there is no point in ordering them

To tell you the truth, there is absolutely no point, I ordered my 2nd notes June 10th, we want to feel like we know what's going on but the notes tell nothing and the important info are redacted, plus if there's any news in them they're a month old..

exactly. i have got 4 notes. two had nothing new. my fifth set which i ordered at the first day of this month is coming in the next week. As things stand, i am done with ordering for the next 3-5 months as i expect to see nothing new.

My application is also stuck in security screening that started on April 27.

AOR - Feb 25, 2017 - CEC-Inland
Med Pass - Mar 19
Background check - In progress since Mar 19.

The security screening started after I passed eligibility. I am from Pakistan, that might be a reason for security screening taking longer. I have traveled overseas but only to Europe, Singapore and Thailand (so not dangerous countries at all).

I am a CEC-inland applicant and have already passed through checks before coming to Canada. I am guessing that we have been randomly selected for security checks as I see applicants from different backgrounds here who have apparently no reason for extensive security screening.
Let's keep this thread active and see if we any one of us gets any updates.
