Fund Carrying to Canada for landing

Hi Seniors,

I am travelling soon to Canada (this week). As I am getting different updates from sources, i am bit confused. My query is as below:

I am taking less cash with me. For remaining, i am keeping money in mine and spouse UK account during travel. We have proof of statement and details available with us. I have created a Canada bank account and I may transfer all the money once bank account if full operation (may be in a day after I land).

Is this fine? or should i carry amount as cash, or in travelers card or in DD?

Should be fine. I'm not a "cash" person and carrying 10k+ would freak me out. What if I lose my wallet at the airport!

My worry is, in case if they need to see PoF and they dont want to accept statements. I was thinking, some half money to be converted to travelers cheque or so?

Carrying this much cash is a risk but it's your choice. Please make sure to declare the money if it's above $10k CAD.

why wouldn't they if you have live access to your bank account and it's in your name
