I landed on 3rd June 2022. Apparently I received an email fro IRCC stating " phase 1 PR Card " my photographs do not match their specification requirement and I need to re submit the photograph to an address they've provided in the mail. I have already couriered them 2 fresh photographs to avoid further delay. However

The last line of the mail states " Please ignore this mail if you've already received the PR Card "

does anyone know how long does it take from here on to get the PR card ?

Very insightful, and i agree.

What's going on in Ukraine gives them a very good, politically convenient way of diversifying the type of immigrants they receive.

To be fair at some point, they needed a way to balance things out because 50% of immigrants every year was coming from the same country, and with immigration happening on the scale it is in Canada, they needed a way to prevent ghettoisation and the problems the Europeans have faced with a lot of sustained immigration from specific countries.

I always thought they should implement a quota on how many immigrants they accept from one country in a given year, but it's not a very "progressive" thing to do, so they are probably finding other ways to do it.
As someone who've lived in Canada, this is so true. They're seeing what is happening in Europe and are probably looking for a way out to "diversify" their immigrant population. That being said, I also think ethnicity also plays a hidden role in this. Not saying that Canadians in general are racist, of course not. But I have seen people in Canada who would never ever accept immigrants from Asia or Africa (even if they're born there) as Canadians, but would immediately call some guy from Lithuania as fellow Canadian. Thankfully, there aren't too many of such people but taking in a lot of Ukrainians is certainly a way to appease these type of folks so the political spectrum in Canada doesn't shift too far right.

Considering that from the last draw there were about:
  • 8,115 candidates left with 501+ points;
  • The average PNPs probably in the 800;
  • Potentially 500 more candidates expected to be added in the pool;
  • 1,100 available ITAs for the 501-600 range, and;
  • If we were to divide about 8,700 candidates equally between the 501-542 bracket:
We are looking at a CRS of 536 worst scenario.

If the distribution is more towards the bottom of the range, then 530 best scenario.

One of the three potential August draws may be an FST or far worse, a CEC-only draw. If you don't get an ita in the next draw, my expectation is for it to be pushed back by at least another 4 draws. i hope this isn't true, but I can't shake the feeling that we're going to have a delay in the bi-weekly draws this month.

My bet is CEC only as well.

Between a FST and CEC-only draw, the latter is better for us because the majority of the candidates on our range fall into that group. Can a FST draw happen? Of course, and we can do nothing about it.

What will do us an immense favor is to bring draws in the 3000-3500 range, close to pre-pandemic. 3k is good too, especially considering where we are right now.

I have no hope for an ITA in August because I made peace with myself that the scores will drop in the range of 5-7 points per draw, even that hopefully. We have an immense competition with the candidates inside Canada and pratically a very small chance for improvement. On top of that, an insignificant number of invitations issued.

In September Sean Frase should announce either point reductions for CEC or point increases for French because I can't fathom how the F they came to the conclusion that both of them somehow deserve an almost equal value. I can understand the Canadian education, but this I cannot comprehend.

Either way, a consistent 5 point decrease per draw is very welcomed at this point.

I honestly don't care as much about getting an ITA, as long as those sub 450 CECs with trash english don't get one either.
As long as someone with basic manners and common sense,who can speak English/French ,who can leave behind their uncivilized behavior get ita. I don't even mind where they are from/if they have less CRS ,Some are extremely difficult to handle because they lack what I mentioned.
The problem with low CRS CEC score is majority of them can't do anything which I mentioned and the only thing they know is they pay taxes and trash talk everyone except themselves for their misery.Because of their superior skills now we have record low unemployment rate because simply there is no competition.
I will vote for any party ,which will put a stop to this degree mills like lambda,bow valley....

Totally agree! The whole CRS 75 draw in and of itself defied the concept of merit based invitations.

I am ready to admit I was wrong in the future, but I don't think there would be a CEC draw. Reasons? 1) They demonstrated that more CEC than FSW people got ITAs in the past draws, so they continue to invite CEC candidates. It's not FSWs fault or high scoring CEC fault that some CEC just don't have enough points needed at the moment. CEC people are not excluded from draws. So no reason to invite CEC only, like where is the logic?

2) The announced TR to PR program, or whatever they call it. It should be finalized in September. While it will prob exclude some inland candidates, it will only be for inland people (I think), the majority of which are CEC. The program will have lower scores for sure, so it will cover lower scoring CEC candidates. Not all of them, because it will at least partially be NOC specific, but it will cover lower scores.

So, no need for a CEC draw. I don't see why they would hold it. And I speak this as a CEC candidate.

Exactly. I remember Sean at one occasion expressed that if one (CEC) doesn't have enough point for EE, then they should look for other pathways as most immigration programs are for ppl with Canadian experience. He also said quite recently that there will be no more extra points for Canadian WE.
I think we can all agree how the minister himself can introduce a huge impact on immigration policies, as we have seen from the previous minister.
