We all know by experience that missing UCI # is not a big issue but here are CIC words confirming the same

FAQ: I forgot my client ID/UCI. How can I get it?

This eight digit number appears on all documents you get from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). It looks like this: 0000-0000.

Look for this number on:

letters you received from CIC,
your immigration document such as a PR card, study or work permit.
If you do not have any of these documents but want to fill out an application form:

You can leave the field for UCI (Client ID) blank.
Note: If you have not dealt with CIC since 1973, you will not have a UCI or a Client ID.

If you can that's always a good practice, however many like me just left that section unchecked on the Document Checklist. CIO guys understand from that too! Good luck!

Thanks for sharing mate. I read through your posts and saw how you moved from US to Canada and then I noticed two entries in the spread sheet so understood how important the visa is for you. I didn't pay attention to the application received dates but brother Century shared your case. Don't worry, if the error is fixed then you certainly will be fine. Cap will not be an issue at all. LOL Cap has returned my application in 2011 and 2013 so I certainly know what I am speaking when it comes to CAP. Good luck, brother!!!

PS - Last year my application reached on the day CAP was getting filled (was for the NOC that filled first). Some lucky few got PER from that day, but merely a handful. All others, including me, were returned. LOL!!! ;D

Yeah, I hope for the best. Was out of CAP in 2013 so this time I made sure my application reaches well in time but unfortunately had this BC issue. Anyways keeping my hopes alive

Had a question on another note, you said you were able to read my posts...... Is there a way how a person can read all the posts by an individual...... I am only asking this coz if I login after a day or two over this thread, it really becomes difficult to go over so many pages and follow the trail.

So is there a better way?? or you guys too start over from the last page you left??

I mean if i login afte 2 days from now, I am sure we will be at 3000+ pages and then it becomes diffcult to go over all the pages.

You can right click on a person's name and open their profile. Scroll down and it has a link to read the last posts from that person.....there it shows all posts by the person. Cheers!!

Yeah, but that takes you to all of his/her posts over all the threads, right??

These are applications that CIC deems complete and that will be counted towards the cap. There is no indication of whether these applicants have received PER or not.

thanks tknova. one more question - i have been to canada and have my old visa. I assume my uci will be same as the one they might have assigned me when I applied for that visa. Is there a way to find out my uci?

For only principal applicant, spouse, and children. Other member's is not require - they are not dependent.

check it in your visa (8 digit number); Note that some people reported, in the Visa, they don't have it.

If CIC makes any communication, you may also find it out there.

Hi members,

Hope you guys are fine,

I am just writing this topic to get some help in writing a cover letter for my work experience certificate. The problem with my work experience certificate was that i took an authorized leave of 5 months to Australia where i went to look at the universities and the educational environment and for visiting purpose(Is this reason good enough??). few important things

Basically i worked from sept 2011 to may 2013 but in between this time period i went to australia from jun 2012 to nov 2012.
Secondly should this cover letter be written by me or by my employer on his letter head with the stamp.
Also i want to mention here that i was reemployed back in the same company from dec 2013 till present and i want to mention this in the cover letter as well . how to do that.?
Also if somebody can share his work experience certificate and cover letter similar to my situation or any,,, i wud be very gratefull!!

Finally i dont know how to start of with the the cover letter , what to write in it, what bits are important, should it be like my details on left side then writing the cover letter which states that my company says that he was authorized a leave or should i write it that i took an authorized leave.??

I am very confused in this case i would really appreciate if you guys can give me a sample how a professional cover letter is written.. !!
