My NOC is 2133 (Electrical and Electronic Engineers) and I can apply in October only because only then I will get 11 points for experience making my total points 68. Do you think the cap will last by then ?

guyz iam a 14 may applicant and my mode of payment is DD... my question is when should i contact my bank to know my DD status? as 14th may applicants are charging now....

I am going to pay for my application using demand draft. The amount in my case is 1250 CAD (550 for me, 550 for my wife and 150 for our child). The question is - must I additionally include 13% canadian tax to this money amount? When I applied to WES, the tax was included...

Finally the good news is here. Got the PER email just now.

Few pointers.....i was stuck with WES duplicate report. Thats why i guess there was a delay. So, anyone who gets the email for duplicate report, please dont worry, and order another online. It takes only 5 minutes.

Secondly, the DD date shown in the mail is exactly a week before the bank declared. Therefore, our take home is that if some ones dd is not cleared you need not worry as banks will take atleast a weeks time to display in their systems.

Thirdly, i was fortunate to have people in the forum as well in my friend circle and in particular one of my cousin to guide me to the fact that sending the complete documentation is of utmost importance. So, please people send complete documentation.

Fourthly,please make extensive use of cover letters. They play a big role.

Fifth, please take car of the experience letters. They should highlight what CIC wants to read.

Sixth, use as many annexures as you want if space is less.

Seventh, take advice of our forumites wherever you ar stuck.

Eighth, have fun(this is the only thing i missed out for last three months)

Can you or someone else in this forum guide me about this cover letter thing as it is not asked in the document checklist ?
Secondly regarding work experience reference letters can I use the experience letters given by the companies upon resignation from the company and attach my contracts with the letters ? The letter do not mention my salary but the contract does.

cover letters need to be used, whenever one feels the need to highlight a point or two. for instance if you have to provide pcc for two countries, but are submitting just for one, it is good to form a cover letter and tell them that the second one will be supplied whenever its available.

for experience letters, i would pass the question to the seniors, who will be in a better position to answer your query.

What is your basis for saying so?

I agree the wording on the site states that the numbers are of "complete" applications. However they only update the cap page every time they sent a PER flood. Also, including apps in the cap before PER means that some NER apps will count against the cap. I guess that could be the way they do it but in that case that means they are going to lose maybe 5-10% of the number of people they could admit.

As per the Operational Manual that CIC officers have to go by, the numbers published relate to 'complete' applications upon examination in accordance with section 8.1. Completeness check upon receipt. PER refers to section 9. Procedure: Assessing the application against Ministerial Instructions.

Guys as i said earlier :

As per Spreadsheet :

Total Application received in Spreed sheet are approximate 30% of world wide application received at CIO.

According to this:

Total Application received in Spreed sheet from 1 May - 7 May 2014 = 323

Total Application received World wide from 1 May - 7 May 2014 = 30% + 70% = 323 + 753 = 1076

-------------------------------------------------

Total Application received in Spreed sheet from 8 May - 15 May 2014 = 387

Total Application received World wide from 8 May - 15 May 2014 = 30% + 70% = 387 + 903 = 1290

-------------------------------------------------


So Assuming world wide application received :

First week of May = 1076
second week of May = 1290

So counted application showing on website - "Total received toward the overall cap: 887 of 25,000" are PER's received are out of 1076 application sent around the world.

Reached Toronto few hours ago.. When I flew above Nova Scotia (Seeing in the map on the aircraft TV), I remembered our dear CIC office..
I remembered my personal efforts and wait for 3 months before my Cc got charged on 11th Aug.

Most importantly, I remembered all our forum members emotions, and their efforts, all have been patiently waiting..

I am at USA living in same state since from entry.
For getting PCC, I have 2 options.
1. Apply at State Bureau of Criminal Apprehension & they issue me criminal record if I request the purpose
2. Apply to FBI for the same


For 1st one, I spend less effort,money & time whereas for 2nd, its time consuming.

are both means of PCC valid or do CIC have particular guideline ?

I hope! Because if this is like this I only have to wait 8 more days!
