"all d consultants r Not wrong".. his Case seems to suggest that only the Officer has committed a mistake in calculating the points.

Pls refer to Guideline/ table.. it says "Points per Ability" and each section is Classified as "Ability Speaking", "Ability Listening", "Ability Reading", "Ability Writing"... so there's no sense of awarding points on aggregate scores (or Overall IELTS Band for that matter) 8)

I guess u hav not read all my post on this topic, anyway I also think that most probable way that CIC calculates english score is by adding up scores of all the individual sections but i stated if CIC has not made a mistake in the above mentioned case then for sure a different method may b applied by CIC. So all consultants and experts then wuld b wrong in the way they think CIC calculates english score.

I dont agree at all that it is anywhere stated, in any guide or table, that CIC just adds individual sections score and does not aggregate individual sections to arrive at an overall score and then allocate points.

The table only states points per ability section but has CIC stated that they will just add them up and not use an aggregate score ..i dont think so....all I m saying is if CIC is correct in giving 20 points in amitraj's case then aggregate score is the way they have calculated it.

I think you dont need to mention the travels from your country of citizenship to country of residence in the travels form.

1.2 years of my job experience initially was in this following role. Can someone please let me know if this would be NOC 2281 (Computer Network Technicians) or 2282 (User Support Technicians)?

• Provide technical assistance and support for all users either in person, email, tickets, or over the phone - for hardware, software and application problems.
• Ensure that all requests are responded to within timeframe providing accurate and detailed information until problem resolution and customer satisfaction have been achieved.
• Liaise with vendors for computer hardware failures and warranty claims.
• Continually optimize the support process through drafting and maintaining support documentation and refining support procedures with a goal of reducing user issues.
• Maintain database of tickets through regular follow up of problems and queries.
• Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and PBX telephones.
• Procure new IT equipment - laptops, servers and peripherals for users in local and remote offices.
• Provide after business hours support on an as-needed basis.

This does not look very convincing for 2281 although its got duties listed under 2281 . Looks equally inclined between 2281 and 2282.

Thanks Nishesh, once again. I think I'll give up points for this role and continue with 3+ yrs experience in 2281 instead of 4+ years experience as 2281 and 2282 combined. I'll lose 2 points, but will still be at 70. What do you say?
