Please i need some advice. My sister's husband is preparing for one of the provincial programs in January. He runs his own business therefore functions as the MD of the company. His reference letter will be written by one of the directors of the company. He has a salary account but no salary has been paid from the corporate account this year due to slow state of business. He has however earned money through other sources. I have recommended that he ensures his salary is paid from the corporate account this month and subsequently since things are better now and cic might request statement from salary account after nomination. Will appreciate your advice on the best way to go about this. Thanks

If he is going to use the company as employer, then he will need to get a letter from the company stating his role, salary etc. The implication is that he may be required to show his salary account statement. So, like you have advised him, he needs to ensure that they pay salary into his account and also that tax is duly paid.
