Hello
I worked in England from September 2001 until April 2009. I know I can only claim the employment years for the past 10 years, so the time will count 2005-2009 and I might claim points for four years.
The real problem is that the company that I worked for is out of the business. I have old salary slips, original contract, reference letter on company's letterhead with all the duties, my company's identification card, my annual tax records from HM Inland Revenue etc. Will CIC accept those old dated documents or will they say they need a recent dated reference letter?
In fact, the employment agreement was signed and dated in 2001.
The other problem is that my reference letter tells that I worked full time 37 hours per week but it does not tell my salary. In the UK, employers never mention your salary on the reference letter. You are expected to prove your salary through payslips or salary certificates. Will that be a problem?because CIC says that the reference letter must mention salary and other employment related benefits.
What do you think of my position. There is nothing I can do to get a new letter because a long time has passed and I do not live in the UK anymore. I have no contact with the people who issued those documents.
Regards
Khan
