Yesterday NDVO average processing time went up from 19 to 22 months ! http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp

They may attribute it to the strike... but still no MR on radar for us....and backlogs are a plenty.

Hmm.... Wish had a plan B.

Hi Lamia,

This is really a very valuable information for the applicants. Currently you mentioned the total number of spread sheet members as on 01/11. I request if you could portrait the number of spreadsheet applicants in each interval it will be much more informative. For example as on 23/9, 27/9..... how many spread sheet member for each NOC. This will give more confidence to the applicants including me as we can see the whether the number of spreadsheet members are increasing or decreasing in correspondence with the CIC applicants.

What is an ‘EOI’ System?
Canada’s EOI model will be based on a system that was devised in New Zealand. A similar system was adopted by Australia in 2012 for its economic immigration programs.
Announcements made by CIC, as well as an analysis of the Australian system, give clues as to how an EOI model would function in Canada.
Under an EOI program, prospective immigrants first complete an online form which states their interest in becoming a permanent resident of Canada. It is important to note that an EOI is not an application for a permanent resident visa. Rather, it indicates an individual’s request to become a candidate for permanent residency.
The EOI form will include important information about the prospective applicant, such as work experience, assessed educational credentials, and proof of English/French language proficiency. In addition, EOI candidates will be ‘assigned a points score and ranked’. Not all individuals who submit an EOI application will be invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency, and not all those who are invited to apply will necessarily receive a visa.
In the Australian EOI system, prospective immigrants can be found and nominated by either an Australian employer or a state/territory government. It is likely that Canada will follow a similar route.
Speaking to the Globe and Mail newspaper, Canadian Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney explained that candidates would go into a ‘pool’, from which the most desirable can be ‘fished out’ by employers and by Federal, Provincial, or Territorial governments.
Implementing the EOI System in Canada
Specific details as to how the EOI system will be implemented are forthcoming. However, it has already been announced that consultations have been held with key Federal, Provincial, and Territorial stakeholders about the system.
The EOI system has the potential to greatly assist provinces in addressing their specific labour market needs by providing their governing bodies with a range of eligible skilled professionals. This opportunity has been met with approval from many provincial stakeholders.
“Immigration is vital for economic growth and our system must be more competitive internationally,” said Stephen Khan, the Alberta Minister of Enterprise and Advanced Education. “On behalf of the provinces and territories, we look forward to continuing our work with the Government of Canada to transform the immigration system, making it faster and more responsive to provincial/territorial needs.”
No announcement has been made as to how an EOI system will interact with current immigration programs such as the Federal Skilled Worker, Quebec Skilled Worker, and Provincial Nominee programs. The Federal Skilled Worker program, currently the most popular for Canadian permanent residency, is expected to begin accepting applications on May 4th, 2013.
EOI Impact for Workers
If all goes as planned, an EOI system could greatly benefit both prospective immigrants and the Canadian economy as a whole.
Most importantly, those selected for permanent residency may arrive in Canada with employment in their field already secured. This, combined with fast processing times, is a great advantage to immigrants. Says Minister Kenney, “[immigrants] would arrive in Canada as permanent residents with prearranged jobs and literally be going to work at their skill level within a few days of arrival.”
Many prospective immigrants are intimidated by the prospect of finding employment in Canada when still living abroad. The EOI model could take this element out of the equation, instead letting Canadian employers do the work of contacting those candidates they deem qualified for a certain job.
The implementation of the EOI system will be one of the final steps in Canada’s immigration system transitioning from one of inflexibility to one that can quickly address the country’s needs. As Minister Kenney has said, “this is the future as opposed to the past.”

Do you have an idea who was the last applicant got PER with his/her applicantion receipt date? Was 2174 CAP filled before June 13th Applicants? You might be very close to the CAP and they want to keep your application along with few others in case few 2174 applications are rejected by VOs.

For your information, I am a NOC 2174 and my application reached CIC on 13th June 2013. I had also sent an email requesting status and got the ditto reply from them, just quoting the UCI number. Now I have a few cases who have got back their application. But I am yet to hear from CIC or get back my package. So not sure how CIC is working with the applications. Its really tough waiting, but patience is a virtue

Well that is what I am hoping. Hoping for a miracle. And there were few posts wherein people were saying their application has been rejected for 2174. But then I (nor any other applicants) are not getting anything from CIC. Also the CAP for 2174 was filled somewhere in the end of May.

I suggest you to call on this number to get a status update about your application:

+1 613 944 4000

You have to go through few voice options & press digits according to your application made until you reach a point where you can enter your UCI number through phone dial pad. You must be able to get the latest update.

If it doesn't work, send another email requesting for a fresh status update.

Wish you good luck buddy.

I don't think it is a disqualifying factor if blood glucose is above normal level. I guess blood check is done for HIV and not glucose.
You may like to confirm it with your Doctor's office where you intend to have your medical exam.

CIC medical exams are pretty simple. They will do urine microscopic analysis for presence of blood, -cyphillis- albumin, sugar etc. I don't think any abnormal figure is a disqualifying factor except cyphillis. They will do X ray for TB. If they find you have dormant TB bugs in your body, medical surveillance is required on landing. If you have active TB bugs, then it is a definite disqualification. Canada does not want immigrants to bring in contageous diseases and spread. They do not want people with terminal and serious diseases to immigrate and drain their economy.

Take it easy, you are not going for a fighter pilot's physical exam!
Exactly my point! Good one, mate!

Thx for sharing.
Actually I read the handbook and call the docotors on cic list. What i know is that the blood Glucose is not tested normally. Blood test is for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis only.
However, if u r overweight (BMI over 24?) then u may need to test blood pressure etc.
Fortunately I lost my weight in the past 2 weeks.
What worrying me is that routine urinAnalysis will test uriNe glucose. If it is high, then u will need to have additional test on blood.
2 weeks ago my urine glucose and blood glucose are higher than normal in my medical check. every signal says I may have diabet.
So I am worried coz I heard this will prevent my visa.
Fortunately I went to hospital to check my urine again this afternoon and every signal is normal.

Maybe becoz my BMI is good now?

Pray for my ME this Saturday.

Hi Seniors,

What is the difference between submitting files directly to CIC and submitting those via a registered Canadian immigration lawyer to CIC. Is it increase the credibility of applicants document than those submitting directly to CIC?

::)
I would like to say that submitting your application through a consultant to CIC does not make your application more credible than doing it yourself. It's like having a second opinion or having someone go through ur form at a cost just to ensure that it's in order. Guidelines on how to fill your form has been provided by CIC. If you follow it sensibly and correctly, you don't need to worry about anything. I never used any consultant. There has been occassions in this forum of people reporting that their files have been returned due to old application forms filled and they have used consultants.

Hi Seniors,

In the birth certificate I submitted to CIC. The place of birth is different from the passport and birth certificate. Where as all the other details are same including date of birth, parents name etc. I submitted my documents via a qualified immigration lawyer. According to him there is no problem if the place of birth changes in the birth certificate and passport. He said only date of birth matters for CIC. Today when I gone through the spreadsheet section of returned application. I saw the applications of many applicants were rejected due to minor errors like use of old schedule 3 form, error in filling forms etc.

I am really panic now. Please let me know whether any of you had the same experience like me and what was CIC's decision.
