They are not publishing exactly when any NOC reaches the cap, they are delaying for their own reasons. however some NOCs are already capped as we are talking, that's what I think.
Maybe they won't process as fast as last year because of the new changes in the process (Forms & Credential Evaluation)

I am keeping assessing my chances against the following facts:

1. NOC 2174 is too popular
2. New CIC forms were published on May, 4th
3. The new requirements to provide educational evaluation
4. My application received on 23rd
5. 4/5/11/12/18/19/20 are weekends or national holiday
6. My application received on the 13th business working day.

Can anyone make an estimation on my chances !! :'(

if sending application was in our own hand then I would send my application on 4th May. It was WES that delayed many applications including me
my application was reached on 23rd may with NOC 2134 (hopefully not a popular NOC).

Well the form clearly says to answer every question and leave nothing blank, put N/A or NONE in the areas that are not relevant to you. So it will be at the discretion of the person reviewing your file. I do not think this is a good enough to reject a file however, even in the 2011 group persons let off little things and still received AOR ( this I got from reading the 2012 forum) But as always this is only my opinion.

well regarding that....in the generic application form for UCI number, it was said in guide 7000 that leave it blank if its an online application or write NA...i think as there is barcode..so its online and i left that blank....moreover that form makes fields gray those are not applicable....

You do not have to submit a cover letter explaining why there is no PCC. PCC takes varying times from different places....some can take up to 6 months. They also have an expiration date. For those that take up to 6 months to get I would start the process now. For those that can be acquired in a shorter time period less than 2 months, then I would wait until I have received AOR or second AOR and commence the process as soon as possible. How I was clear.

regarding pcc i have a different query....i got my pcc from UK and current country of residence the day after i sent out my application to cic....so at the moment im not worried about pcc from my country of residence as i can arrange it anytime..however worried abt the one i got from uk...the uk pcc was created on 24 April 2013.....so im just wondering by the time cic asks for pcc can i submit the same uk pcc or do i have to arrange another one....also plz tell me at what stage they may ask for pcc or i'll have to start processing to arrange pcc from uk.........i have also heard that as im not going back to uk now i can get away with the one i already got...... please share your advice....

Umm no, I don't think so. They will definitely put up figures of the first week, or at least first 10 days of applications received. That MIGHT / MIGHT NOT be 300. Well, it's all just speculations. Lets see what they do. No one can actually say anything right now, because of few factors that are involved this time.

1- ECA [few got lucky, and than many others got stuck].
2- IELTS [minimum 6 in each]
3- All NOC codes changed this time, so no NOC repeated from last years. So, many applicants weren't prepared including 2147 / 2174, and those who were prepared got heart broken. I guess at least 50% on this forum that are applying for 1112 were prepared for 1122 so they got a tiny edge here.
4- Even though it was launched on May 4th, but First application that entered CIO was on Monday [and that too with old forms]. Most of the applications started their journey from Monday the 6th. With in Canada / From USA applicants got real edge here. Than South Americans, than Europeans, than African + Middle East and lastly Asia.

In the last, the only thing I could say is, FOR GOD SAKE CIO, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND POST SOMETHING, SO THAT WE COULD CONCENTRATE ON OUR FREAKING JOBS ;D haha

I wish it to be not filled yet. There are a lot of potential & deserving applicants out there who are gathering the documents. 300 is very less. It would have been good if they kept it 500 but reduced the overall cap from 10k to 5k. That would have been the best case.

Let's hope tomorrow or this week brings good news to all of us.

Soundless..my answer is YES..

Please go ahead with filing .. this entire thing is a game of LUCK..doesnt matter if jigzzy send his file in first week means he will get visa and if you send file on 1 june mean you wont. certainly cap is important but you should not loose the hope until CIC will not update cap details.

I am a software engineer...and would be sending my application soon.But I am confused about 2173 and 2174.
2173 is software engineers and even though not mentioned in the bullet points but if you click on the NOC list it is present.
Does it mean NOC list is a general list and only some of the jobs present in the NOC list are eligible occupations ?

Please let me know.Have all the software engineers applied as NOC 2174 ? ??
