I am final checking all Forms and supporting documents (including medical check also done), hope to send the application this week. I need help if my understanding is correct - I thought Form 5406 is not applicable to my situation and no need to fill?

My case:
- my husband is Canadian citizen and be my sponsor
- he has two children from previous marriage who are also Canadian citizen; and they are grown up already age 26 and age 30 both do not need any financial support from us
- I have no previous marriage nor any children with my husband
- both my parents already passed away
- I have 2 brothers and 1 sister, age 49, 52, 57; we don't live together and I do not give any financial support to any of them

I only apply for myself to immigrate.
I thought my two step-children are not dependents and they are anyway already Canadian citizen. My parents passed away. My brothers and sister have no intention to immigrate to Canada in the future. Therefore I at first thought I don't need to fill in Form 5406 because I have no family members who may be sponsored by me in the future.

however I double check on the checklist (I am from Hong Kong and the checklist IMM3903 applies), it states,
"IMM5406 - You and Each of your family members must complete their own copy of this form"

I am not clear if it is not applicable to my case ? or my understanding above is wrong, then what I need to provide ?

I am confused, appreciate help :-\

You need to fill out the form. Regardless of whether you have any intention to sponsor your family in the future, you need to fill out this form.

thanks for your reply; and sorry to ask follow up questions so that I understand what to do -
_ do I also need to get EACH of them to do Forms, including the two step-children and my brothers and sister?
_ and EACH of them need to do the following if i double check on the checklist mentioning family members:
1. fill Form 5669 Background/declaration
2. fill Form 5406
3. provide identity documents e.g. birth certificate

in addition, I at first thought I don't need to provide 'additional family members information' and so I don't need to do the 'non-accompanying family members declaration'; so my understanding is wrong - is that correct I need to provide 'non-accompanying family members declaration' states that my intention to immigrate to Canada without them?

for this, the checklist asks for 'submit a notarized statutory declaration' - do I really need to get a lawyer to prepare such declaration?

sorry for several questions, may sound silly and really appreciate help :)

Only the principal applicant fills out that form. If you read the guide, it says that for the purpose of the application, family members are: your spouse and children. Siblings, parents, etc, do not count. They do need to be listed on that form, but they do not need to fill out a form for themselves.

Thanks a lot. I at first read the guide which defines family members are spouse and dependent children, and therefore I misunderstand I don't even need to fill out the 'Form 5406' because my two step-children are not our dependents (already older than 19 and do not need financial support from us).
