Update for March 8, 2012:

I visited the Garden Forensic Unit office today around noon. I was told that I would be needing a police character certificate from my area police station, copy of passport and copy of CNIC, if I wanted to get the fingerprinting done there.

I was also "referred" to someone at the Kharadar Police Station, who can "take care" of all the requirements in return for some "chai pani". So, I am going to the KPS tomorrow , or not. Depends on my mood in the morning.

But I am thinking of getting an international money order made (for the $36 FBI fee, for 2 copies) instead of sending my signed credit card form. Have already had a bad experience at the time of the initial FSW1 application to CIC, Nova Scotia in Q4 of 2009.

Any advice on that?

Hey checkout my so-called "Canada Immigration Blog" (it's a little thin right now, but will get better.) Its more about the human side of it than the process one.

Dear Azad Jan:

Here is a detailed answer for your info. Hope it helps. If you still need more info; plz do,nt hesitate to send me a PM again.

I downloaded the forms / application / card / info and then printed the Card on 1. a regular paper (80 g), 2. a 90 g paper and 3. a more heavy card & 4. a shiny paper ( possibly less than 80 g; now a days used for printing calanders) and sent the best 3 of them.

I applied for an FBI record and my letter was recieved on desk in US on July 1st, 2010 (07/01/2010) as reported by my courrier TCS from Pakistan. In a letter dated August 27th, 2010 (08/27/2010), it was reported to be recieved as on July 2nd, 2010 (07/02/200) by the FBI office and was reported to be returned on August 24th, 2010 (08/24/2010) with a result " NO ARREST RECORD - FBI ". The Envelope was Postmaked as of August 30th, 2010 (08/30/2010) that was recieved at Islamabad, Pakistan September 5th, 2010 (09/05/2010) and it was deliverd to me in my city on September 7th, 2010 (09/07/2010).

Well friends;
1. I took my own fingerprints taking extra measures to get clean resulting cards by myself using a standard Black Stamp Pad.
2. I made 4 set of fingerprints out of which I sent the best 3.
3. I sent the application with a $ 18 Draft.
4. I sent my application with a request of expiditious handelling by July 1th, 2010 ( 07/10/2010).
5. I also made a photocopy of the wholeset and kept it with me.

So Conclusively my FBI record was prepared in 53 Days ( 7 Weeks 4 Days ) and I recieved t back in 9 Weeks altogether.

Hope it Helps.

Hello,

Here is my experience finger printing in Islamabad but not Karachi.

I needed to get my fingerprinting done to send to the FBI in USA for Police Clearance (PC). I tried all the police stations in Islamabad but they did not have the skills or equipment for this job. Eventually I found a fingerprinting expert in the Prosecution Division of F-8 Markaz (Kacheri) in Islamabad. He charged me a nominal fee of Rs 500 and did a perfect job. His phone number is 0333-5164958.

Good luck
