File Transferred to Detroit USA

Hi All

I am a May 2011 applicant, and my current status in ECAS is "Application Received" and details read "Application received on 31 May 2011" and "Medical Results Received" :'(

I recently asked for a status update from OttPilot-Immigration -->OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca.

I received a reply stating that my file is currently in Detriot, USA and that I send a mail to detroit-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca for any status updates.

Is anyone in the same situation as I am?
Why would they transfer my file from Buffalo USA to Ottawa Canada and further to Detriot USA?
Is this transfer going to speed up anything?
should they not be letting us know if the file gets transferred like this?

I applied for GCMS notes on Mar 6th 2012 to know whats going on...

If you are applying it for yourself and in Canada.. you can apply under Privacy act.

If you are not in Canada, they you have to ask someone to apply it for you because they only mail documents within Canada. In this case you should apply under Access to Information Act and pay $5 for this service.

My application was "in process" as of December 20/2011... and in February I inquired about my case in buffalo, and was told that it had been sent to Detroit a month before... and the week after I got my passport request. THey do tell you to not inquire at the new office until after 90 days, so definitely try to request for those case progress and see what is happening to your file..

But considering from what I've read on this forum, once it gets to Detroit it shouldn't take too long for you to hear back. (say maybe a month- 1.5 month after it's been transferred)

You guys think u got no luck? Read my case.

I applied in January 2011. Got the medical request from Buffalo in August. Medicals done and sent to Ottawa in September.

A week ago contacted Buffalo and was told my file got transferred to Detroit on August 11, 2011. I HAVE NO IDEA. Not a SINGLE WORD from Detroit until, I contacted them last week as well, and they replied saying that my medicals have been request from Ottawa.

It's been 6 months since I have done my medicals and the results haven't been received by Detroit.

You think thats it? On eCAS my file does not even exist. FUN TIMES.

Buffalo is overwhelmed with the case load, in order to expedite the processing of your case, thats why they transferred you to Detroit which is a good news.
here is my timeline, and hope it helps:

I submitted my application to Buffalo in Apr 2011, Received FN/ME in Aug 2011 and did Medical right after. My application shows in Process on Jan 16 2012, File transferred to Detroit on Feb 28,2012, Then received PPR email from Detroit on March 29,2012.

So I just posted this morning and shared my long time waiting application story with you guys.

Today I received an email from Detroit, where I was informed my application is ready to be finalized and that I will receive an email from them with the final instructions.

I am assuming it's the RPR fee and mailing the passport, right?

Was the email they sent in in response to a case-specific inquiry you had sent them, or did they just email you out of the blue.. If they emailed you out of the blue then the email should have contained instructions on how to pay the fees and send in your passport
