Can some seniors please shed some light on this!

I've received my AOR letter in 2007 and was stated that it will take 40 months to process my file, but i've just been informed that it has moved out to 69 months (Pretoria, South Africa). Can anyone tell me why this is happening, i know one of the reason is qty of applicants, surely the immigration offices must try and cut down on processing times and not increasing it.

Sorry Guys, but it look's to be bad News everywhere for the rest of the 2007 applicants. The Long wait continues. How far this is true, I do not know. But for your information, take a look at this---- H mm.... erm..... Time to move on and maybe forget about the Canadian Immigration thingy,

Quote:
"Hi, I'm a November 2007 applicant. My lawyer has met with senior canadian immigration officers a couple of days ago, he wrote me an email saying that they told him my application won't be due untill 2012 as post Feb 2008 applicants will take 100% of their time in 2011.... I thought I'd share this with you."

The visa officers are efficient. Everything is in place. If they want to process faster they can do it by employing more staff, but what if they do it deliberately to regulate the flow of immigrats in Canada? CIC wants to cut down the level of some immigrats (depends on some category also) and unfortunately the axe is falling on old applicants. It is so saaad. First CIC started 38 category high demand list and then 29 category high demand list. Where is high demand? e.g. Doctors are in high demand list, lecturers/ professors were in high demand list, and many other professionals in high demand list, after landing in Canada many of them doing some menial jobs such as driving taxis, working in factory or supermarket as a lobourer. Jobs are very few and nobody want to emlpoy the new immigrants in their field even if they are highly qualified and enxperienced. May be after 200-300 years CIC will realize it's mistake and apologise for this ongoing flawed immigration strategy.

Dear SISH7255,

I think you've hit the nail on the head with "but what if they do it deliberately to regulate the flow of immigrats in Canada?" The only problem is, if i withdraw my application i won't qualify under 29 requested jobs. I geuss, sit and wait i've been doing it for the last 3 yrs, what is another 1 or 2.

Yes, you have no option but to wait.

All the best to you.

If I were in your shoes, i.e live in South Africa, I would wait as long as they want me to wait but honestly, I won't and can't wait longer than 48 Months as stated in their initial AOR because:
1) Time is against me with regards to my Age. When I applied I was 39 years old and almost at the peak of my career, and was ready to start from the beginning again in Canada but not after 44 -45. No way.
2) One of my kids will be getting ready for UNI, one almost halfway in secondary and the other will be in Secondary.

Hence, No way. I will request refund of fee and RPRF and if they say no fee, I will trouble them to give me back my fee as they were not able to supply the commodity at the time stated in the AOR which is in a way a letter of contract. Believe me, I will write to the immigration minister and other authorities, and make a real big noise and "hunhan", as I feel this is totally unfair and unjust. I will speak to the newspapers here in London too, as I have 2 friends who are journalists. Maybe that will make me famous too (LOL) and maybe that will also be a wake up call for them not treat old backlogged applicants as "* SHEET censored word*". If they still say no fee refund , I will still ask for my RPRF and let them work on the file as I have paid for it but still make that noise.

I fully agree with you. If you write to the immigration Minister i am sure something will be done. Because they can not keep playing with time , time is money and should be taken seriously.

Wish they can do something.
