its random , i have the same case with 2 friends , came at the same to canada , studied the same major finished same time . i applied before them 2 months they got it before me a month and half !
even , since i came to canada i never traveled outside , not even outside quebec . my friends traveled couple times which means should be more security checking for their cases . so to conclude its random depending on the agent that treat you application . i ordered the gcms in the end of feb

What did your GCMS as of end of feb say? what was the last update date ?

@ xpert : the process started 2013-03-06 what took too long is the security check in "CBSA" took around 8 months.

i ordered the GCMS notes in feb got them in march the last update was made in 14/02/14 they verified is they got somethin related to the security screening .

Finally!!! I got my passport/visa request guys, after 12 + 1 months

I received my PPR email today. I realized that one or two files must be attached, but nothing is attached. Would you please tell me what was I supposed to receive with my Pass Request email?

Congrats! There is really nothing attached,...the letter is in the body of the email.

Thank you for your guidance. I thought something may be wrong because I had heard about a form which must be filled (about eye color, height and ...). Moreover I had heard about two piece of photos which must be sent with passport. But no photo is requested in the email. Were you asked to send the photos?

Since I know two photos were required to be sent with passport before, and it isn't requested in my email, I just wonder if CIC has changed its procedure or there is a mistake? I'll appreciate if the guys who have recently received PPR specify if they have been asked to send the photos or not?

Just follow the instructions in the mail, send the passport with a copy of the email, they already have photos of you, you sent them with your application
