extending stay... is this a good enough reason??

My fiance (USC) came up this last winter when I was 9 months pregnant to celebrate the holidays with us and to be here for our childs birth. We plan on getting married this summer and he will live up here at that point. Right now we are still making wedding plans, and setting our date - and he is watching our baby while I am at work. We cant get married before the summer though, or I would have filed for his PR by now and done that. But I am wondering if he will get rejected an extension due to the fact that we are going to get married soon? I have photocopied proof that we have $$ for him to go back if he is asked to do so; and I wrote a letter stating I am taking care of him financially while he is visiting as well as a copy of my pay stub.
Is that enough??

Would it be better if I paid the PR application fee right now without filing since we havent got married yet and submit a copy of the receipt?

Hey Tigg,

Congratulations on your impending child!

I am not an expert in this, I'm a newbie as a matter of fact, but I'm pretty sure that if you and your partner are congugal, or have been seeing each other for awhile, and particularly as you are having a child together, you can likely file now. Do you have lots of photos and other stuff like receipts from trips together and so on?

Have a look through the threads in the spouse and family threads in this forum and i bet you will get a lot of help very quickly.

Hi Doug, thanks for the quick reply! We thought about conjugal, but was told that depending on the io who does our file, he may not accept due to the fact we had to impediment on trying to qualify for common law. But it may work. Kind of an expensive gamble :-[
