Express Entry open work permit after closed PNP permit expires?

Hey guys,

Is it possible to be granted an OPEN work permit under Express Entry CEC application (having eAOR and medicals passed) if my current work permit is employer restricted? I have two ongoing PR applications in - PNP (*NOT* EE PNP) and EE CEC (no LMIA) and my current work permit I obtained thru PNP nomination is due to expire soon and I know I will not get my PNP PR before that happens. I read one might be eligible for an OPEN work permit if Express Entry application is well in process and there is 4 months left on current visa. I do not want to extend my permit under my PNP application due to variety of reasons hence my question.
Does having closed work permit, even if under different PR stream make me eligible for EE open work permit? I am aware I would probably need to cancel my PNP application if granted an OPEN one linked to my Express Entry. But what is the chance I would be eligible for an EE OPEN one while my current one is a closed, linked to PNP, work permit?

Just to make sure tho - can I apply even if I am on a CLOSED work permit linked to PNP nomination? Will not those two permits collide?
If I would be granted BOWP linked to my EE while my PNP would still be valid, would my PNP permit be automatically cancelled as I obviously cannot have two valid permits? How does BOWP EE affect my PNP PR - would I need to cancel it right after closed permit linked to it expires / gets cancelled?

It doesn't matter what permit you have now. As long as it's still valid, you can submit an application for BOWP.
No effect on your PNP application. No need to cancel.

Case scenario - my PNP PR depends on my employment (closed work permit via PNP nomination), in this case, if I stopped working for my current employer once have obtained BOWP, my PNP PR would get cancelled, am I right?
