expired passport is destroyed -

The invitation to pass the citizenship test exams advices to bring all the passports: current and expired

However, as required in my country of the origin, while issuing the new passport,
the old passport was destroyed.

Will it be a major obstacle?

I called CIC, and they advised me to call either my consulate,
or citizenship program phone (1-888-242-2100), which happen
to be completely robotic- no living person picks the line

What else can I do?

You could either send them an e-mail or just go and visit the embassy in person. By the way which embassy is it? From the sounds of their activity seems like Bangladesh
