Others can comment about the particular province whether there are special provisions or not for new immigrant births but based on other posts here the general estimate for a straight forward birth seems to be quoted 8-10000 dollars, more if complications such as a C-section and longer hospital stay.

As per your other post qualifying time for a health card is quoted in this link which implies 3 months from landing/becoming a resident. As said others can comment for any specifics for this province

Arriving April with a delivery May 20 sounds pretty close to the limit for flying but guess depends on whether begin or end April, might still need a doctors note for the airline.

Special Classes of Newcomers
If you are moving to Saskatchewan from outside of Canada, you may be eligible for Saskatchewan health coverage on, or before, the first day of the third month after arriving in Canada, if you are among one of the groups:

  • Permanent residents (landed immigrants)
  • People discharged from the Canadian Forces
  • Non-immigrants who are in Canada in connection with their trade or profession
  • International students
  • Returning spouses of Canadian Forces members
  • Returning Canadian citizens

Yes depending on when you did your medical you could delay landing and then add you newborn since your wife will not have health coverage.

You and your wife have 1 year to land before your medical expires. You could stay in your country to give birth and then add you child to your application if possible. Otherwise the other option is to land and go back to your home country then one spouse has to return to Canada to sponsor your child. You can try to get the baby a trp then a trv if it is denied but there is no guarantee that you could bring your newborn to Canada. If denied you would have to wait until the baby’s PR is approved.
