ECA - WES vs IQAS

Hey Guys,

I am going to start with ECA very soon. Could you tell me about your last experiences with WES and IQAS?

1. What is the proccessing time?
2. Which one is simplier to apply (less documents etc.)?

I live in Alberta (Edmonton), but not sure which way I should choose. I will be very appreciate for your help!

Hi, I got my WES certificate in exactly 20 business day after documents were completed. (end of March-2017)

1.) Processing time for WES is usually 1-2 months in total.
For IQAS also it has been around 1 month.

2.) Both require the same documents I guess.

WES has pathetic customer service though.

My ECA with WES took a long time as they never received my transcript which was sent from university. After filing complaints and giving them proof that they signed reception of the mail, evaluation "magically" started. After that it was done in 15 business days.

Just one more question to you: do I need send documents in my original language as well or just English versions/translations?

WES took 3 weeks to complete my assessment after receiving all original transcripts directly from the university. Zero customer service though.

I finished BSc, 3.5 years and MSc, 1.5 years.

How should I fill it in WES, because there is no option for 0.5?
Should I put 3 years for BSc and 2 years for MSc or
4 years BSc and 2 years for MSc?

You can put 4 and 2. WES will evaluate and decide for itself.

You also need to send your secondary and intermediate documents to WES but IQAS doesnt require those. They only require your highest/latest degree.
you can check your degree equivalence on WES website, they have online degree equivalence toll.

Do I need to fill and attach "Academic Records Request Form WES form" even if I get transcripts and copy of dimplomas from my University?

What should my University put to envelope and send to WES?

Ask university to send you degree along with WES degree request forum and do not forget to write your WES reference number.

In most cases the university needs to send official transcripts(stamped across the back of the envelope). They will accept transcripts if the university sent it to you in a sealed envelope as long as you did not open it.

Send the transcript request form from WES to your university and also follow any other procedures that your university has.

If all this is too complicated for you, there are some agencies(I know some in India, not sure about other countries) that will handle the process of obtaining transcripts from your University and send it to WES for a fee.
