Today I went to Toronto for Fingerprints for the FBI.
I am a US citizen who is here temporarily (from the US) while applying for PR (process).
They said I will need fingerprints for Canada security clearance if I am applying for PR? They said that since PR takes at least six months, that if I here I will need finger prints for clearance from Canadian Police.
Since "technically" I am only a visitor that can only stay for six months. Why would I need Security Clearance from Canada?
I could understand if I had a job and my own place. But I have neither, as I can not legally work without work permit, which also precludes me from getting my own place. (Note: I'm staying with my [new] Canadian wife. Also if Immigration ask for security clearance from Canada so be it. I just thought it strange I've never heard of this before.)
