The checklist usually specifies what needs to be original and photocopy.
I for one did not have anything notarized and just sent normal photocopies and was successful.

You have to remember that whatever you sent in with the application will not be returned. (Just the passport of course.)
That is why they just ask for photocopy.

Lol. No you do not.
Is your application Inland or Outland?

IF outland yes, you need to wait for the passport request.

If inland, You will not need to send them the passport ever, They will stamp your passport at the landing appointment.
