Documents incomplete?

Hi all,

Normally how long will it take for the CIO to get back to the applicant, if it is found the files are incomplete?

PS: I just realized that I did not put "Present" in the timeline of work experience and home address, since I'm still working and still living in the address. I could not input "present" in the electronic forms. I heard in this case my documents will be returned ... I am so angry with myself!!!

Is there anyone knows any way so that I can inform the CIO so that I can re-apply it as soon as possible ????? Thank you.

You just have to wait around 3 months for your AOR or returned application, In my case I did a lot of mistakes too I didn't put the Visa office that'll process it, etc. But luckily I recieved my AOR and they're starting to process it now, think positive, you'll get your AOR soon

Did you make the same mistake of the silly "present" issue? I searched the forum and did find people get returned because of the issue.

Three months is too long, my police certificate is going to expire at that time ... and a lot of policy changes could happen in three months ...

I'm thinking resubmit some of the forms right away, do you think that would help?

Don't wait... just fill out those two sections again and mail it to CIO. Use 2 envelopes - on the one containing the documents, write your name, date of birth, unique client ID(8 digit number on your study/work permit) and include a letter explaining your error and that you have attached properly filled forms and ask them to assign it to your file. Put this into the mailing envelope with a tracker # and hope for the best.
I recall one member did this and the file was not returned.

one of my colleague, applied for PR in June 2011 & received his card recently
he advised me to put the date of signing while doing that and i followed the same.
he didn't have any problem with his PR, but now this thread all of sudden shocks me
do i also need to be worried and send those sections again?

I agree with senoritabella, it just depends on case to case, better take actions now than sorry

How long since you applied? Common sense tells me if you entered the signing date in the "To" section and this is the same address on the Schedule A form, the VO will probably make out that you still live there....just a guess. But if you are worried, fill out the forms and send.

i have applied on 8th and application delivered today, i just went through the instruction guide and could not find anywhere saying "present date/current date/till date" it is just saying to enter the date

so i am hoping this should not be a problem as you said that VO should have common sense to figure that out, and also i have selected CPP-O, if i dont live or plan to move back then i would have selected New Delhi, india

I am just going to sit tight on it and planned not to send any documents unless CIC asks for it :

I just sent another copy of IMM5669 as SenoritaBella suggested. Hopefully they receive that and won't return the documents.

Where did you mention "PRESENT" in IMM 5669.
It only accepts Valid date..

what i did was put the dated of expiry of my work permit and explained this in my cover letter. i said something like "since i cannot write 'present', i have chosen to write the expiray date of my permit." i think as long as you explain yourself, it SHOULD be ok. but then again, it's immigration, not your math professor. sometimes, being reasonable only gets you trouble.

i will type "see attached" on the address history section and type the information on a separate sheet of paper and attach it, in this case i will be able to write till present at the most recent address since i still lives there.

I eventually added "present" by hand. Hope it will work.
