Do I get implied status after applying for Bridge Open Work Permit??

Hi everyone,
I am going to aply for a Bridge Open Work Permit. If I don't receive my BOWP or my PR before my current work permit expires, then will I get implied status and can work in Canada till I receive the BOWP?

My current work permit is IEC, would that change the answer to the above question?
