While there are immigrants who succeeded in Canada in their respective careers. I am posting this topic to hear from forum members who landed recently in Canada and they found out that their home country (Philippines, India, etc.) is still better than Canada. To rephrase my question, did you regret quitting your previous jobs in your home country to migrate to Canada?

We hope to learn from you

My reply to your "original" question: Did you regret you applied for immigrant to Canada? - Yes, I did regret not applying earlier, otherwise I would have been there long time ago. Alas, I am still not there :) :) :)

Whether I regret or not is a different question entirely, time will tell. TBH, I am well established where I am.
However, I am highly disappointed in the long wait and the whole processing procedure, as well as not knowing my fate( Negative or Positive) even after almost 42months, and that is what is making me regret having applied. If I could turn the clock back, I think I would not (re) apply.
In ca. 42months, all I have received from them is a letter, the so-called AOR, which literally only means, we have opened a file for you and that's all, and after that, all is just "PIANO".

Yes you will find some people who regretted applying. There are always cases of failure and I have heard some stories on this forum.

it depends on person to person, you cant generalise.....if a person is regretting after going to Canada, tht doesnt mean that some other person will also be in the same state, he might do well in Canada compared to what he was doing before moving to Canada....

For me, the most difficult thing in Canada is.....

... keeping the smile off of my face ;D

No regrets, everything happens in its own time.
Have patience and you can survive the process.

I do not really regret, but at the same time i am not happy with the way the applications are being processed. They allow you to wait for a long time without any information, it is a very bad way of doing things. If you know how long you have to wait, the better you can plan other things.

I agree with schwarzeradler - waiting since last 20 months very sad.

Yes i do regret, why i came here. I was in the US have a fulltime Job . I am an Oracle Application consultant having over 9+ years of experience, I rarely get calls. Met several IT recruiters in Toronto but still they are trying. The response is very slow from Canadian Companies. Even after shortlisting, I am still yet to get the Client calls. This is my experience, I dont know about others. If some one could help me in this forum, it will be great.

Hi,
Currently I'm in US , H1B getting over soon. I did apply last year in May , got rejected because I did not fill job duties carefully. But Now I have quite a decent job offer from Inv Bank and already joined here in US. Just waiting for my Work Permit and god know when it will arrive.
