hi everyone.

sometime back also, i had asked you all members to advise me the best way to take my dependent child along with me and my wife to canada.

this happened in september 2008, i along with my wife and son, landed in toronto and than after 3 weeks we came back to origin (Qatar), where I have been working. We had plans to finally move in to canada on or before september 2011, to retain our RP. In between in september 2009, we had our second son and after consultation with our counsel back in canada, we applied for his RP, last year in september 2010, without knowing that it will be refused, coz we dont live in canada. Right now we have only 4 months left to go back to canada and our second son has no landing papers. Counsel says that he will apply for a visitor visa for my son and so that he can travel with us and while in canada we can apply for his RP legally. Pls advise. is this the right way. Thanks.

It's the only way at this point - either that, or one of you has to go back to Canada and sponsor the child, but the other one will lose his/her PR status for not complying with the residency requirement. If the visit visa is refused for the newborn, it may come down to one of you having to go back to Canada to reapply for the whole rest of the family's PR again.
