Your COPR comes first, and it can take anywhere from 2 weeks or 6 weeks depending on the mail.

wow, that takes so long. thought it's gonna be a week or two. btw, what is COPR? is that a canadian permanent resident card? i believe you only receive your pr card once u landed in Canada.

No, it's Confirmation of Permanent Residence. It's a piece of paper that you will get in the mail so you can land in Canada Like I said, it depends on how fast mail is, but anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

COPR is confirmation of permanent residence, for people that are visa-exempt - not sending the passport as it is not necessary, it's just the COPR that is sent to the address of the applicant.

In your case, I suppose you are not from a visa exempt country - unless you are resident in Manilla but not Filipino? did you send your passport in already? then it should not be that long... but difficult to say. Try asking in one of the Filipino thread, they have more experience in dealing with Manilla embassy - maybe choose one that is from April or something, where people have already heard back from the VO.

I guess it depends on the postal service in your country, so I can't really say much... at least you're not between 2 countries ... my online status changed on the 8th of November, and my VO is London, but I'm already in Canada - i have been told it takes between 10 days to 2 weeks for the VO to get the passport out and sent to you... so hopefully yours will show up in about 2 weeks or less.

so far so good,thanks! only been here 4 weeks as a tourist, and looking forward to landing as PR and being able to fully integrate - find a job, etc!

The time is very random. Our status changed to DM on Nov 6, and we received the CoPR at our Canada address exactly 1 week later on Nev 13. However on the CoPR paper the issue date is actually showing Oct 30. So i think ours actually did take a couple weeks to arrive in Canada, but it was just they don't always update status on time so DM was shown a week late.

That was fast! congratulations, that's great to hear! you beat me to it! mine was updated a day later (8th November) and I'm still waiting for the COPR to arrive, but I'm already in Canada, so from London (my VO) to here, it might takea about 10 days - hoping to get it either tomorrow or tuesday and landing just after that! (I'll cross over to the US and back in a day...).

Good luck for your new life, glad to see it went well - and good luck for packing etc, that's a bit of a stressful time for sure!

My DM showed up Nov 6th and I am still waiting for my passport to return, tomorrow will be 2 weeks since DM ... they have had my passport for 36 days now...
