Hi All,

I have a quick question for all the experts on here.. I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a Japanese citizen currently living in Japan. We applied for her PR outside of Canada and have been waiting since. We applied on Dec 5th 2016. Thsi is my current status on the CIC website for her application.

Sponsorship
We received your application to sponsor XXXXXX on December 5, 2016.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on December 13, 2016.
We started processing your application on December 12, 2016.


Permanent Residence
We received XXXXXX's application for permanent residence on December 5, 2016.
We started processing XXXXXX's application on December 28, 2016.
Medical results have been received.


Can someone please tell me what this means? I know I have already been approved as a Sponsor but what does this update mean?

I am not sure if it made a difference but we did use a pretty well known Lawyer for our case and my SA was approved in a week.... hoping you get yours soon man.... very stressful time for sure....

Yes it was a bit complicated.. My wife had an issue with over stay and unauthorized work. She thought her Student visa would allow her to work off campus but it only allowed her to work on campus while attending school. We spoke with the Lawyer and she mentioned to us that unauthorized work and over stay are usually not the ultimate deciding factor for family class application. Thought we would play it safe so decided to just go with them.. So heres to hoping they are right..

Hopefully it would be some days around this week. I am very sure I have entered my email and address right. So I think there is nothing that can go wrong. The waiting just makes you paranoid.

It does for sure. I keep thinking I have some something wrong and it is discouraging.

You should have sent as registered mail at least you can trace the package and find out if they receive it or not.

we sent it by registered mail (canada post) C$49 with tracking no.
it showed the package was received on dec.19 but the signature image was hard to recognize (looks like "R.."or "D..")

Hey guys. So I did my medical exam a pretty long time ago in February 2016 but didn't send off my application then. My Application was received on December 1st 2016. We got SA on December 16th and sent to Sydney office and is In Process. My account says medical passed. Does this mean for sure I won't have to do medical again once it expires in February this year?

our app has been returned due to incomplete document:
IMM 5406 section A, they highlighted "mother and father" part
I only sponsored my husband, not his parents, why we need to put their info???!!

Can anyone help? thank you.

Also, we used old forms when submitted in December, do we need to use the new form when re-submitting?

Did they send you an email and tell you, or you just got the application back in the mail?

They want information about the PA's family, whether they would be sponsored at some point in the future or not. Siblings would also need to be listed as well if he has any, including half or step siblings, so if there were any you didn't write in there at the time those should also be entered. That wouldn't be as obvious to them that that might be missing, but parents would jump out at them immediately. They should be entered on the form even if they're deceased.

I think they will let you know if they require you to do it again. I have seen some people they wave it so you don't have to do it again. So it's hard to say. I would imagine they probably will make you do it again since it is early in the process stage. But that is just a guess
