Sponsorship Approval from MICC 25th February 2014
AOR from VO: 3rd March 2014

Some news from my side. Today I've received an AOR from my VO in Paris and an email requesting a copy of my CSQ as I'm moving to Quebec. My eCas status as not changed yet, is still showing application received.

Congrats! Once my VO received my additional documents (a police check and traffic history) my ecas changed to In Process so fingers crossed for you!

Quick question - my husband's more recent FBI check just arrived. Ottawa has not requested it, but I want to send it now as to avoid potential delays later. I sent the original application via ExpressPost (Canada Post) to Mississauga. However, I want to send this to Ottawa through something more reliable. Has anyone used FedEx? Would they be a better choice?

I would definitely NOT ust Canada Post after my experience for anything important. I use FedEx all the time for work, as well as personal stuff and I'd bank on them. It's worth the extra cost.

It's been 35 days since we got SA and I too have not received any response from our VO and my medicals too isn't updated yet. However looking at the timeline of other applicants under my VO, they have gotten an AOR/ ADR after 2 or 3 months of SA. So I am hoping I will hear from them only by April end or earlier if I am lucky.

I think there are people who don't see medical received throughout the process, and those who get it once their file is transferred. It's weird like that. Maybe you can send a case-specific query to the VO for them to confirm that they do have it.

Hello everyone,

We're happy to join this thread as we also submitted our application on Dec. 5, 2013. CIC Mississauga sent an email (to our joint email account) on Jan. 1, 2014 that the application was received on Dec. 5, 2013. We received notice that I was approved as a sponsor on Jan. 9, 2014 and our file was sent to Pretoria, South Africa. Then my husband received an email on January 27, 2014 that his application for permanent residency was received on Dec. 5, 2013.

Anyhow, we're now patiently waiting for more updates : :
