Hello Bryanna,

I am Canadian PR, recently applied for visitor visa of my parents in VFS Chandigarh India. We prepared all the documents in July 2016 and applied on 20 July 2016. After we submitted the application, I realized I made a minor mistake in the invitation letter that I sent to my parents.

I was supposed to write the date on it 10 July 2016 but by mistake I wrote 10 July 2015. The purpose of visit is just meeting their son and I have also attached a provisional itinerary of air journey on 1 Oct 2016 and returning back to India on 30 Nov 2016.

Will the consulate people understand that I have written 10 July 2015 instead of 10 July 2016 just by chance? Because, the letter consists some happenings that didn't happen before 10 July 2015. For example, I mentioned in the letter that "I am a PR" and that happening recently happened (My Confirmation of Permanent Residence documents says its date that is 19 April 2016, which is also attached) and did not happen if I had actually wrote the letter on 10 July 2015.

Do you think that they will get it? Do I need to update them about this mistake? Will this be a misrepresentation on my parents' end? Or am I thinking too much?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The visa office understands that people can make typos unintentionally. IMO, this point is so minor that it might not even catch the attention of the visa officer especially as the visit dates + any other dates in the Invitation Letter are all in 2016.

If, however, you don't want to stress over this point.... then you can send a CSE + an email to the CHD VO explaining it was a typo

Don't worry :)
