Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Hello and thank you my dear friends, specially eli, rezan and kamal for their help.

Actually I sent an enquiry to Damascus and asked them if we can go through medicals or not? I also asked them to inform us if we have to do any required action before issuing the visa in order to avoid further delays. Now I'm waiting for their reply...

but I'm tired of their ROBOTIC! reply beginning with: "Please be advised that your spouse's application is now in the queue for review by the responsible officer to determine that statutory requirements are meet. You or your spouse will be contacted directly when the application is finalized or if any additional information is required." !!!

It seems that they have some routine messages or pre-saved replies and when someone asks a question, they simply select and send a reply matches with that question!! (Good Job!!!!)

I hope I receive a reasonable reply for today's enquiry.

Omid jaan, you are right, every time i send them an email i get the same letter as you mentioned. but your case is different. I think they should clearly and particularly explain to you how you should proceed. Omid jaan today iraqia got his visa, his time line is almost the same as you.. pas be omide khoda shoma ham bayad hamin roozaye khabari daryaft koni


Iraqia got his visa on 22 September !!!!!

i posted before 2 days on this thread and i am on this thread everyday 5 to 6 hours because i work in an internet cafe so be sure that i will post anything that happens with me i see that damascus embassy is on fire which makes me happy and i hope we all get good news i'll keep you posted guys

embassy is closed on Fridays and Saturdays :-( I am a bit sad on fridays and saturdays !!

i send an email to the immgration office 2 days ago Requesting an update for the Permanent Residence Application Status and an estimate of how long will it take to be finalized hopefully they will answer by the end of next week.

its so much stress to just wait ....... god help us

i'm one of your blue people but unfortunatly my husband still does not have his visa. i have been busy with our 6 week old daughter.

We got one of those robotic replies too. I wonder what in the Q means? does it mean everything is done or does it mean nothing has even been started yet?

sent application to Mississauga Ontario on April 1 -2010
got the eligibility letter on may 8 -2010
start processing application on may 18 -2010
requested documents on Aug 3 -2010
sent requested documents on Aug 8 -2010
received on embassy on Aug 10 -2010
since then still waiting

I would like to know experience of people who have been informed for passport request for issuing visa. Generally, does anybody call from embassy and request passport? or they will send an email? If they call, generally they will call sponsor or sponsored? And at last, what is the expected time of calling in Iran? Morning ?

yaaaaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooooooooooooo This is the best Thanksgiving ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby got an email request to day for his passport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have highlighted the fact that his medical will expire in December and to get it sent in ASAP.

Here is the email:

REQUEST FOR SUBMISSION OF PASSPORTS





This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We are now in the final stages of processing and request that you send the following documents to our office in Damascus, Syria:



ORIGINAL individual valid passport, for yourself.
2 recent photos (35 mm x 45 mm, white background) for yourself.
The validity date of your visa is shorter than two months, we recommend you to submit your passport directly to our office in Damascus. This will allow us to return your passport to you much faster and will give you as much time as possible to travel to Canada.

Please note, this does not guarantee that a visa will be issued.



Your passport MUST be received at our Embassy in Damascus no later than 30 days from the date of this letter. You are strongly encouraged to send your passport via courier (If this service is available in your country) to avoid wait times at the Embassy.



EXPECTED VISA EXPIRY DATE:

If a visa is issued, it will be given the MAXIMUM VALIDITY of 08-DEC-2010. You must arrive in Canada on or before this date, it cannot be extended or renewed.



Passports: Each person must have their own passport, including minor children. Your passport MUST be valid beyond the validity of your visa. Any passport changes after the visas are printed will result in a Replacement of an Immigration Document charge ($30.00 CDN) for each visa that needs to be reprinted.



SUBMIT YOUR PASSPORT VIA COURIER:

SUBMIT PASSPORT IN PERSON IN DAMASCUS:

Alternatively, you can approach the Embassy of Canada in Damascus with valid passport and two recent photos (35 mm X 45 mm, white background) for yourself.



Passport may be submitted Sunday to Tuesday from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. You will NOT be able to collect your Passport/Visa the same day. Passport/Visa can only be collected the next day at 2:30 pm.



**NOTE: You can authorise a third person to collect your visa. The authorised person must present a letter of consent (see below) and identification.
