Who knows , why the Canada Embassy in Syria has not updated their site ? .. i mean OFFICE CLOSURES..

Canada Embassy in other countries has updated...

I heard the Canadian Embassy will close very soon. Is this true? What happens to permanent residence applications?? I've been waiting for about 8 months for my wifes permanent residence (I'm sponsoring her). What happens if the embassy closes?

dear friend, maybe it was correct..maybe not...don't forget ..if the embassy is going to close , besure they will inform us by updating their E-case , maybe they will send us by E-mail..anyway it is not possible for holding all of permanent resident and sponsorship cases ..they will move another office..

The good news is that while I'm writing this MSG The deadline for voluntary evacuation is over.

Before getting an answer to that, did you inquire about the expedition of your wife's file? If she's a Syrian national, Saturday is the last day that the embassy will help people leave the country.

My wife is sponsoring me, they wrote on the status of my wife's sponsorship that a decision has been made, and that they sent my file to Damascus on 3 May 2011. I received my CSQ on 12 September 2011, how long should i wait more, am i still far or my case considered like i'm half the way? It sais on the cic site that from Damascus i need 13 months for the whole process, i guess it's been 12 months for me now, so 3 months more and i'm done?
If the situation in Syria goes even worse.would they transfers the file to Lebanon since i am Lebanese?

Dear Ajaxxio ,

if you count from 3rd May 2011 the day which Damascus received your documents, now you have passed 8 months and 13 days. The 13 months is relevant to our 2nd step of processing. And it starts from the day they receive our whole documents in Syria. So be patient and wait!

I sent a twit to Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada and they answered that embassy remains open! An i hope it will be so till all of our case will be finalized!
