Daily Commuters Living in Canada - Residential Address

Planning to become a commuter moving to Windsor and commuting to Detroit for work daily.
Do I need to update my HR about the address move to Windsor?
Or can I simply let my current address in Detroit (friend will continue to lease it) be used on record for H1 extensions, etc in the future.

If you are on US payroll, usually company would require a US address. Some say they have their Canadian address in system, not how that works. In general for US payroll or health insurance you would need a US address.
