Hi Friends,

I have a quick question. Using the CRS tool I got score 473. But Once I did my CIC profile I got lower score as 417. I did not get point for CRS Study in Canada (30 points) and Foreign Work experience in Skill Transferability Factors (26 points), though I put all the information correct. Do you have any idea what was wrong?

CRS tool result is as follows:

Like this:
Core/Human capital factors
Age = 110
Level of education = 135
Study in Canada = 30
Official Languages = 82
First Official Language = 82
Second Official Language = 0
Canadian work experience = 40
Subtotal - Core/Human capital factors = 367

Spouse factors
Level of education = 0
First Official Languages = 0
Canadian work experience = 0
Subtotal - Spouse factors = 0

Skill transferability factors
Education

A) Official Language proficiency and education = 25
B) Canadian work experience and education = 25
Subtotal = 50

Foreign work experience

A) Official Language proficiency and foreign work experience = 13
B) Canadian and foreign work experience B) = 13
Subtotal = 26

Certificate of qualification = 0

Subtotal Skill transferability factors = 76

Comprehensive Ranking System formula
Subtotal Core/Human capital + Spouse factors + Skill transferability = 443

Additional points = 30

Grand total = 473

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

Thanks!!

What were your answers for the following questions:

1 -Was this degree, diploma or certificate:
from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec)
from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.)
Help

2 - Was more than half the study program English or French as a second language courses?

3 - Did XXX study in Canada based on an award that required them to go back to their home country to apply their knowledge and skills? This includes some awards from Global Affairs Canada.

Regarding the skill transferability question - what are your IETLS results?

Cheers :)

Ok so first problem here - The second question is asking if half of your courses were ESL or FSL courses (courses for you to learn/improve your English/French). Answer should be "no" so once you make the change you will get your 30 points within 48 hrs.

You're getting 26 points in skill transferability for the following - 13 for one year of Canadian work experience + 1 to 2 years of foreign work experience AND 13 for 1 to 2 years of foreign work experience and for having one or more sections of your IETLS below CLB 9 (in this case all sections except writing). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp#a1

Honestly if you are able to obtain CLB 9 in all sections your score would be high enough to receive an ITA.

Cheers :)

Okay, so I got the first problem.

But do I need to change anything with the 2nd issue of 26 points? Altogether I have one yr of Canadian experience, no other foreign experience. And as I mentioned my IELTS: Speaking:6; Listening:7; Writing:7; Reading:6

I put this info on the CRS tool and got that 26 points but how to get that on my CIC profile? Please clarify.

Thank you a lot!

If you do not have any foreign work experience this is why you're not getting those points.

In order to get points in skill transferability - foreign experience you need at least one year of such work experience. You're saying you only have Canadian work experience, therefore you cannot get points in this section.

Okay. Got it. In the CRS tool the question 6(ii) is for foreign experience! :(

Anyways the maximum point I would get is 447, no chance to get the invitatioin.

But thanks a lot for your kind replies and time.

Best Regards,
