Well, my file got transferred from CPP - OTTAWA BACK TO BUFFALO and I came to know this when I emailed them for my status.
How did u came to know that your file is transferred to NY ?

Just landed on Tuesday.
Here is my timeline, hope it helps.

Application rec’d by Buffalo office Sep 19,2011
AOR, MR rec’d from Ottawa Office Oct 31,2011
Medical done Nov 8,2011
Medical result arrived around Nov 31,2011
ECAS updated Medical result rec’d Dec 16,2011
PPR rec’d Jan 24,2012
ECAS updated “decision made” Feb 6,2012
Landing documents rec’d Feb 13,2012

PS-1: If you don’t want to go out of boarder for landing, you can do so by scheduling an appointment with the local CIC office, the waiting time varies on regions, some offices takes up to 1 month,

PS-2: After you landed, your current work permit/study permit will becomes invalid (according to the immigration office at boarder control), which means, you can’t travel abroad before you receive your PR card (takes 6-8 weeks!), so if your job requires lots of travelling like me, plan your landing schedule carefully.

That’s it, Hope you guys all get your landing paper pretty soon and live a better life in Canada.

is the request to submit passport for visa comes from Ottawa and passport has to be send to Ottawa - or at the final step the case is transferred to the local office and passport request comes from the local office?

i'm sponsoring my parents - and my case is in CPP-O (new pilot for sponsoring parent)... i got medical request from Ottawa... now trying to figure out what will happen after medicals are done...

Same here, I only found out when I e-mailed Ottawa first, then I e-mailed Buffalo later. But not sure when I will receive the PPR.

Yes, sorry. I mean Local office.

CPP-O is a mere processing office but all of the files once completed will be transferred back to whatever office is processing them.

my case is submitted in Jan'12 and received AOR/MR on Feb 2nd, completed Med Feb 3rd, Ecas updated with Medicals received on Feb 16th. But email stated clearly my VO is RPC, Buffalo and will be transferred to partner offices in Det,NY,Seattle,LA..but the confusing part is status in ecas is "Application Received"

any ideas on the process? since its moving in a pace which is not expected in the dream..within 1mnth and 2weeks of submission the process went this far..still not sure if its for good or bad

When my file was transferred to Ottawa, I had an email from them saying that it has been transferred to Ottawa. They did this since all communications must be then directed to their Ottawa pilot email address (not Buffalo).

Anyhow, it seems that your case is moving quiet fast as well so I suppose the other local offices are picking up speed? Assuming that your background check is clear, hopefully you should get your PR in no time ... of course, a faster processing time is good!

Hi there, I'm glad to find this thread, as I applied as FSW class, NOC 3111, on the 4 th of November to the CIO, and received PER on the 19th of January, then on the 20th of February my file was transferred to otto pilot case processing office, it was supposed to be transferred to Cairo visa office

Is that a good or bad step?

Timeline is quiet similar to mine, at most 3 months from now for PPR (assuming that your background check clears)
