Covention Refugee (PR Process)

Hello,

I claimed refugee in 2012, did my medicals back then, my claim was accepted in September 2016, and then applied for PR.

I received the approval letter in on June 20th, that my PR is transferred to Etobicoke. I traveled to Germany in March for a vacation.

I am still waiting for my PR to be finalized, do you think that they will request other medical considering that the last one I did was back in 2012? Is my vacation to Germany going to make the process longer?

I don't think you will require additional medical tests. I believe it won't make the process longer, you should be okay to travel while your PR is being processed, and that's why they issue Travel documents for refugees so they can travel. But I would call and double check.

Did you travel to Germany using your Travel document?

Yes I applied for a Refugee Travel Document, and I traveled there for vacation for about a week using that travel document.

Regarding the medical test, do you think they won't require any because the application got approved and transferred to Etobicoke?

Also, when I got the approval letter saying that my application is now transferred to Etobicoke, they requested a copy of my passport (passport of original citizenship), I sent it to them, but my passport was expired in 2015. I though submitted my passport when I claimed refugee and they have it, so I don't know why they request a copy while they're having it in their possession. Would that affect the application?

It's been almost 3 months now since I got the approval letter saying it was trasnferred to Etobicoke, I sent the copy of my passport right away, it's an online application and submission

you see cic or ircc has to request your passport from cbsa

Why CBSA? I claimed refugee inland in Etobicoke.

I am still not sure why they requested it, and if more medicals will be asked for?

With ircc and cic they hand it to cbsa I suggest you call cic and have them explain to you
