Dear Everyone,

I am 31, Mechanical Engineer living and working in Japan.
My work experience is so-so in terms of competency and skills.
I have PR and I am planning out strategies that would help me settle down in Canada.

Can you advise of some short term courses ranging from 3 months to a year which could help me land me a Job in Canada?

Regards

maybe you want to look for some technical courses in your college. Many employers don't really care too much about education and more on technical skills and, above all, experiences

My college? What do you mean?
I am from India but working in Japan.

The reason I am planning to take a course is that it will give me some Canadian qualification and experience on my resume while I look for the job.
Meanwhile, if I find job then I can simply leave college and start to work full time.
May be this way I will be able to use my time effectively.

Oh I thought you are currently in Canada so you can contact a local Canadian college

Since you have PR, you can study and work here without restriction.

I think some technical courses like 3D modelling, robotics, manufacturing does help a bit, but not nearly as much as actually working in the industry. So don't limit in just engineer jobs, but also consider working as drafter, technologist, tech sales, etc.
