Counting the days during exchange

Hi Leon and all the others,

I am PR and suppose that I am a full time undergrad student at a Canadian university. I would like to go on exchange but I am worried about the PR residency requirements. If I go on exchange for 1 year, can I make it counted towards PR residency obligation? Thanks.

No, study abroad doesnt count. It's a lifestyle choice. However, a single year away isn't going to cause you to breach the residency obligation requirements, assuming that you are currently complying.

Thanks for the answer. Actually I will not be able to meet RO if i go on exchange so I have to forget it in this case.
