Copies of passports outside the 5 year period required for the interview?

in the notice to appear for the citizenship test/interview it is mentioned to bring ALL passports, current and expired to the interview. Then on the last pages, it is mentioned to have a copy of all the passports and travel docs as mentioned on the notice to appear.

To all those who have been to the interview: has anyone been asked for a copy of a passport outside the 5 years period?

If the passport expired before the eligibility period, then it's not required. However, I would recommend to carry it with you regardless. That's what I'll be doing, but won't be presenting it, unless asked.
