hi there,
With reference to .india.gc.ca , a new NOC system has been devised, prioritizing 38 occupations. my query here is:

My qualifications are B.Com, Post Graduate Diploma in International Business and an M.Com in progress, I have worked as an Office assistant (NOC no. 1211), then as an Accounts Assistant and now as an Accounting clerk (NOC no. 1431) total years of exp.4 +, are these NOC’s still valid and if so what is the estimated processing time under NOC no. 1431. Also are there any specific forms or the ones uploaded on the website are still accepted. plz help guyz....

Unfortunately, these are not valid for FSW 1, i.e., to fulfill ministerial list requirements (38 job list).

The NOCs are still valid as career classifications. However, only 38 of these codes are currently being accepted for the application of PR visas under the FSW route.

NOC 1111 is on the list of 38. However, you would have to demonstrate, with supporting evidence, that your duties are those of someone who is a "Financial Auditors and Accountants". You would also need to have performed these duties continuously for a period of at least one year in the last 10 years.

Zednought said it perfectly.

Just in addition, valid NOCs of skill type 0, A or B will give you points for work experience.

You have to fulfill two criteria. One is that you must fulfill the ministerial requirements. For someone without a job offer in canada or living in canada, you must have one year of work experience in one of the jobs on the job list. Two, you should get 67 points to qualify. Any jobs of skill type 0, A or B can get you points.

Hi Maties,

When you say "Any jobs of skill type 0, A or B can get you points", do you mean any jobs "on the 38 list" of skill type 0, A or B can get you points (NOTE: All jobs on the 38 list belong to one of type 0, A or B as I understand) or any jobs "on the NOC list" of skill type 0, A or B can get you points? Please advise.

Andrew,

In the Skilled Workers (SW) program, there are 3 ways of qualifying. SW1 is if you have one year of experience in one of the occupations on the List of 38. SW2 is if you have an offer of permanent employment in Canada. SW3 is if you have been working/studying in Canada for at least one year.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

The NOCs on the the list of 38 are ONLY relevant to SW1. For SW2 and SW3, you have to have 1 year of full-time experience in an occupation with an NOC classified as O, A, or B.

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2006/html/Matrix.html

But essentially, for SW2 and SW3, you have to have a job in Canada. You don't say where your experience or education is from, so we can't advise you. If you go to the CIC website, all the information is there.
