I read in one place that the application for sponsorship and PR should be sent with the receipt for medical exam, and then in another place I read that "Instructions on how to take the medical examination will normally be sent to you after you submit your application to the visa office".

What is the way that the process should be done? Medical receipt at the time of application or wait to be asked for it?

I remember getting confused as well about this. If you are being sponsored by a Canadian citizen/PR then you need to take a medical before you send off your sponsorship and PR application forms to CIC. Because you have to include that copy of medical form you were given with your PR application.

OK, so we need to get my husband's medical done prior to sending off the application. I keep reading about people worrying that their medical will expire - is it good for 12 months or is it shorter than that?
