Moreover I forgot to mention few things about choosing uni:

1) Montreal is a bigger city, hence more part time job opportunity
2) Getting PR from Quebec is kinda easier than other state

As per the "QS World University Ranking" (2008), Concorida stands 20th in Canada and 357th in the world order.
In the latest 2010/11 survey, both of them stands very close in the range of 401 - 450 (Carleton is bit higher) in the world order. McGill is the top one with 19th rank in the world order and 1st among Canadian Universities.

Of course, different organizations use different methodologies in surveys and each one has their own objectives !! If yu want more info, please go to the the topuniversities.com site

@snake: I called Quebec Immigration yesterday regarding CAQ and they told me to call back as it takes at least 3 weeks to process CAQ. BTW, I sent in my application on April 4th.

ya, i had some other questions i asked with the same mail, maybe thats why she replied me.

you can do like this, send a second mail and tell them to acknowledge you if they receive it.

2011-04-07 (status got updated online on 2011-04-29....it took them 3 weeks to update this )

Dont wait for CAQ by mail, it takes a looong time, I was approved on April 15, still I haven't got my CAQ. So I called Concordia university International office as well as Quebec Immigration, they said to apply with the forwarding letter.

For Software Engineering or anything in IT your better off obtaining a professional course that will lead to certification. The problem with the University programs is that by the time you graduate what you learned is already outdated. Carleton in generally a much more superior University however maybe not for It.
