Commute to Work in US while PR card is renewing

Hello, if someone has applied to renew PR card and in that process current PR card expires, can they still continue to commute to US?

If you are talking via land then yes you can travel without PR card. Use your COPR(and your passport).
You need PR card to board plane, bus etc(all commercial vehicles). You dont need PR card to travel via personal/rental vehicles.
If you have nexus then they wont ask you for PR card.
