Coming to Canada a month before college starts

My friend will be moving to Canada for his higher studies. Just wanted to know if it’s safe to come to Canada around 30-40 days before start of his program?
is there any restriction in that aspect?

Make sure to be ready to answer any questions that the border services officer may have

Yes that is a reasonable time to be able to find housing and get ready for the school year. You can run into issues if coming many months before the school year starts.

Many of my friends and relatives as a student entered Canada 3 months before. They purchased insurance for 3 months. And it was a smooth transaction as per them.
