Color pics for PR

I have applied for pr renew now i got letter to provide color pics. Is this normal or some thing to worry. Pl share ur experience for similar case.thNks

The application form and guides say you can submit either black and white or color so unusual but do as they ask...CIC can be odd since the image on the new PR cards for several years now is in black and white..go figure!

I wonder if they plan on calling the OP in for an interview and want a recent photo. During my live meetings with CIC officials (citizenship interview and day of the oath), they always had a little colour photo of me (ones which I sent in with my application) with my documents and used it to identify me

OP in a different thread makes reference to CIC wanting color copies of his passport...maybe this is what he meant? Curious if this is an urgent application with 730 days exact or a very minor buffer say 735 days? If the OP left Canada......nevertheless seems CIC will be closely reviewing the declared absences.
