I am already a PR and I have to spend 730 days (i.e 2 yrs out of 5 yrs) in total five years to maintain my PR.

My question is suppose I spend 1 st and 2 nd yr in canada and go out on 3 rd yr, then come back in the fourth yr or 5 th yr and stay in canada for one yr .At the end of 5 th year can I meet the three yr obligation for citizenship or not.please clarrify.

1. You must have been resident in Canada for 3 years in the 4 years previous on the day you apply. You can do the math.

Pre-Assessed..
It doesn't have to be continuous but only the last 4 years count so if you spend your 1st and 2nd year in Canada, leave for the 3rd year, come back for the 4th year, at the end of the 4th year, you would have 3 in the last 4 years in Canada and can apply.

If you were gone for the 3rd and 4th year and come back for the 5th year, the 1st year does not count anymore so at the end of the 5th year you have only 2 in the last 4 years in Canada and can not apply until another year has passed.

prem babu, either you just saying your consultant advised you to wait 60-90 days, or my suggestion just fire your consultant right away. this guy doesn't know what is he advising you. you just need 1095 days to apply for citizenship. you do not have to wait 60-90 days after you completed your residency (1095 day).
