Hi there, your help is appreciated even though I don't think too many
ppl faced this peculiar case before.
Here are the facts.

Immigrated to canada in 1999 (stayed for 4 years).
Applied for citizenship in 2003.
Returned to home country end of 2003, got married.
Son born in February 2004.
Citizenshipt test and interview on April 2004 and got the citizenship.

So I got my citizenship as a single person in April 2004 while my son
was born a couple of months earlier from the date I obtained my
citizenship. Can my son get the Canadian citizenship? can I give it to
him?

Please help.

Nope, you were not a citizen at the time of his birth. So you would have to sponsor him for PR. Once he is landed, then you could apply for citizenship, as a child does not require 3 years of residency for citizenship.

ok,

What is my citizenship date then? is it the date I took the oath and received my ID card or is it the date of my ID card?
The date on the card itself dates from December 2003 while the oath i took was on April 2004.
So if my son is born in February then this should not be a problem, no?

Please advise.

2003 is the date you applied (Probably) The day of the oath is the date that you became a citizen.
