I am also 7 Feb 2013 applicant, received additional doc request on 20 th aug through POST which unfortunately reached me om 3 sept, submitted doc on 4 sept......Waiting for remed request...

Who? As far as I understand we have to wait 33 month and 11 month is not apply on us as I didn/t found any one whose case is done in 1 year except one even she got visa in 12 month

I'm very well aware that our timeline is 33 months. I'm just saying that everyone seems to be getting information & requests for something & we've received nothing ever since we've applied.

Is this seriously your idea of a petition?, 3 short paragraphs with absolutely no proper documentation and explanation, its like your are writing a facebook comment? its an effort but there have numerous such petitions eating dust online, this won't do anything and to make a change, there has to be some heavy lobbying which unfortunately won't happen for Pakistanis coz we don't have much in Canada.

Harper's government is destroying everyone's life due to its ridiculous immigration policies for family class sponsorship. First of all we have to fill in over 100 pages by hand. Then there is a $1100 cost to sponsor your spouse.Finally comes the worst part, your file gets transfered to Visa office and sets there for over a year and no one touches them.

Everyday people gets divorced because of this long wait. This government is not treating everyone the same some people from certain countries can sponsor their family in less than 6 months while others have to wait for 2 or 3 years before they get visa.

I am starting this petition, so this corrupt government can listen to everyone's cry and reduce the spouse (family class sponsorship ) processing times to 3 months as it was in Liberals government back then. Also get rid of all this papers we have to fill out.

Join the US, and get on with technology and make everything online.

As Conservative government is revisiting immigration laws to make them more positive to Canadian. :

Why these laws are effecting only Pakistani not Indians or Chinese. Since they are doing this deliberately to Pakistanis.

So, Every one of us think as long as I get visa just move on and they are getting biter and biter now 33 months.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Immigration Minister Peter have said publicly they do not like Pakistanis
as they cheat and do fraud.

Actually Indian and Chinese do lot of cheating and Fraud but they are okay with there family reunion.

Pathetically they are okay to give every one political Asylum with there Canadian expense but
putting 33 months wait for spouse is totally insanity for Pakistanis only.

I think everyone should apply TRV.

Reason behind is strong:

a. 33 months timeline will not come down in months.

b. 33 months timeline does not permit anyone to challenge it at any forum.

c. Even some cases transferred to London they are being treated as they are doing special favor since they come under 33 months timeline.

d. If London select you for processing you might be done or might not be done since 33 months applies.

e. Now if you wait by watching forum as London is working your turn will be soon.
It might possible or might not possible........I do not think it is possible.

f. I am on this forum since March-2012 and have seen cases are done quickly from 8-12-16-20-24-28 and 32 months.
Since it is not based on first come first serve it is based on selection but actually 33 moths timeline protect visa
officer so you cannot challenge them. MP is helpless in front of 33 months timeline.

g. Prepare for TRV and apply when you have enough proof to support TRV then apply and then when you get
PR says Thanks to Allah. That is only best way being Pakistani.

h. London looks working much better then Islamabad but 33 months timeline stays if you are not selected then
you wait and wait like me..........Can not Challenge or force them since 33 moths timeline protect them.

as your turn will be soon....no.....I did same when I saw first case of 2012 approved in 8 months and I hopped
mine will be same since my application is complete and I am Canadian Citizen but they are insane.

1) I am not sure why you are comparing with Indian and Chinese ? Pakistan is a different country with it's own world merit and unfortunately for the worse
2) I don't disagree with the wait time, my issue was this 3 paragraph petition which is even shorter than most forum posts - for change, we need strong lobbying
3) We cannot help if Harper and co doesn't like Pakistan, we are requesting to live here so they call the shots for the time being

I m so depressed.. Ecas still says in process n no sign of passport.. People who had their status turned to decision made r receiving their pps back with visa.. N this in process thing is so nerve wrecking...
