Its not popular too popular in Pakistan, its mostly popular with the foreign groom/bride cases.

Lets say if one of these things happen, then the girls life would be hell:

1) The guy turns out to be a jerk and doesn't want the girl to come to the foreign country.
2) Immigration refuses the cases, saying that the relationship is not genuine and appeal is rejected.
3) The girl gets pregnant and her family has to take care of everything and until the girlt gets a visa there is a lot of stress due to the What ifs.


If the rukhsati isnt done, the girls immediate family and the close family can tell people that only nikkah was done in the previous marriage and then its easier for her to marry another guy rather than staying divorced. There is a fault in peoples mentality and thinking there and that needs to be changed for the betterment of the society.

I see. Thanks for throwing light on the situation guys! Too many trust issues involved, I guess. Hope things get better in Pakistan. Ameen!

Thank you Mr and Mrs Saggit [Since I always get confused with your id's] I got re-pcc and re-imm forms on 4th Aug. So this is about one month from then...My medical expired in June. Maybe yours is a husband case, thus, taking longer- but now that people have started hearing something (first Khan82's ppr and now my re-med) Im positive that everyone withen the timeframe would hear something soon inshAllah

maybe ur inlaws dont understand the hardships that will be faced by both of u in the process...so try explaining whole situation to them...i mean im sure they'll understand cuz teh hassle u n ur spouse will face will REALLY not be worth it!!

i m sponsor and only had nikkha, planning to send some documents voluntary but not too much.
can sponsor send the doc or only the applicant?

i know nikkah only case get the objection, but my spouse family don't want rukhsati until all processing done. anyone can help i m frm khi.

i know ayesha! its been 4 months and still havnt heard anything! I email them and they dont reply either! i had ordered CAIPS notes and everything is good too so i dont really know what the problem is
