Hello I have a question about the certificate of qualification from a provincial body.

So if I am crane operator and I got enough points,( I have not done the EE profile yet) do I need to do this "certificate of qualification" in order to apply for the Express Entry?

my fear is that someone may have enough points and then get the ITA but then they ask or you to get the certificate of qualification

so how does it work?/

You only get the ITA based on the points you have claimed in your express entry profile.

You are not required to obtain the "certificate of qualification" if you already have enough points to get an ITA with some of your other credentials like IELTS score, Education, Age, Canadian/foreign work experience etc.

If you want to get additional points they apply for it.

Just make you can prove everything that you claim points for.

COQ is not mandatory for express entry (you might get an extra 50 points if you have it).

However, if you are claiming any work experience in Canada for NOC 7371, you need to check to see if certification is mandatory in the province in which you work - if it IS mandatory, and you are not certified, then the experience will not be counted.
http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=7&val1=7371&ver=16&val65=crane%20operator

If you are talking about foreign work experience, then Canadian requirements do not apply.
